Good Evening CMHS Parents, Caregivers, Students and Guardians,
Thank you all so much for the wonderful gifts, notes, and signs that our school community provided teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week. The kindness and support shown to our staff means so much. We appreciate our School Council tremendously and truly value the input they provide at our monthly meetings. A special shout out to Mel Wolski for organizing all of the fun throughout the week. I can only imagine how many hours were spent pulling together all of the events and thoughtful touches that made staff feel so appreciated.
Teachers know the importance of parents and educators working together in partnership, always focused on supporting our students and helping bring out the unique gifts and talents each one possesses. Student success remains at the center of all of our decisions, and we are grateful to be part of such a caring and supportive school community.
It was also wonderful to attend our Spring Musical Production of Grease this week. I brought along a former colleague from another school division, and she said she wanted to keep the program because she had no doubt that someday she would see some of these student names up in lights. I love showing off our PVA productions and performances to friends and former colleagues and watching them respond in awe to the incredible talent and dedication of our students and staff.
Grease brings back many memories of my own childhood. I remember seeing it in the theatre when I was ten years old. My older sister and I had to beg and plead with our mother to take us because all of our friends in the neighbourhood had already gone, and of course we could not be the only kids on the block who had not seen it. At the time, the movie was rated PG13, so we had to be accompanied by a parent. My sister and I absolutely loved it, although my mom was quite shocked by how much we were exposed to at such a young age. I know for a fact that if she had watched the movie beforehand, we never would have been allowed to go! Afterward, all of us kids in the neighbourhood spent weeks acting out scenes and singing the songs over and over again.
On a side note, we appreciate your patience as we continue to work through some of the glitches regarding grad ceremony and banquet tickets. We know these events are incredibly important to students and families, and we thank you for your understanding as we sort through the details.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Anne Kromm Principal
